Positive: Good location, reception staff were helpful and made the arrival very easy. Room was a good size and the sofa bed was already made-up.
Negative: Breakfast was poor. We waited twenty minutes to be served. The bread, yoghurts, pastries etc had all run out when we sat down. The only table available was out of sight of the serving area so one of us was constantly up and checking if any of the food had been replenished. For €19 per adult and a lower charge for the children, this was both frustrating and disappointing. Parking was okay, but at a cost, it is advertised during booking but easily overlooked so not great news when on the bill.
Summary: A good location & the reception staff were great but, everything is an extra charge.

Positive: Quite a quirky room, it seemed to be spread along most of the back of the top floor. Being positioned at the top of the old town right up against the citadel, access is though narrow streets (with utility works ongoing) but the hotel does have parking in the garden. The restaurant which is run separately to the hotel, the food was well presented and executed, mains of pigeon and veal sweetbreads were excellent and the deserts chosen were Paris-Brest and a poached apple. The wine list has some good half bottles that make sense rather than the wines by the glass. Hotel has an interesting history having been a convent and then an inn in the 17th century and a convent again and now a hotel.
Negative: The parking in the garden can be a bit tight. Being in the roof it got a little hot, and the one A/C unit in the lowest room just about made it bearable. Nice bath but the toilet was in a cupboard in a different room.
Summary: Quirky quality
